Pedrali at Genova Design Week for “Iconic Design and Contemporary Visions”
Odo Fioravanti’s Frida chair on show at Spazio Giustiniani
On the occasion of the Genova Design Week, Pedrali takes part in the exhibition “Iconic Design and  Contemporary Visions”, held from 21 to 25 may at Spazio Giustiniani in Genoa. The exhibition is part of an artistic and sensorial project set among the symbolic landmarks of the old city, organised in collaboration with Forma Design and the Faculty of Design of the University of Genoa.

The exhibition “Iconic Design and Contemporary Visions” represents an immersive journey through the past, present and future of design. A path that intertwines the memory of the great masters with the bold vision of a new generation of creatives: each object on display becomes a story, a symbol and an opportunity for dialogue between memory and innovation.

Frida, the chair designed by Odo Fioravanti for Pedrali, was selected for the exhibition as an example of an iconic and timeless product. Winner of the XXII Compasso d’Oro ADI in 2011, awarded for its “simple sculptural beauty”, Frida is made of oak essence. This chair is the result of a careful work to achieve a product that combines beauty, avant-garde technology, love for details and simplicity. Frida was able to explore new possibilities in the woodworking. The most remarkable feature is the combination of a three-dimensional curved plywood shell with a solid wood frame. The result is a solid product offering absolute comfort, characterised by great lightness and high durability.
